I am a mom of two incredible humans and have been working in early childhood education and recreation for over a decade. My experience working as a kindergarten teacher led me to China where I not only worked as an educator, trainer, and principal but became a managing partner at an international kindergarten prior to my return to Canada.

 

My husband, Adam, and I ran a kids soccer franchise for nearly six years, teaching little ones as young as 18 months old the love of sport and soccer through the 'play not push' approach.

 

In 2019 I purchased Speckled Frogs Shanghai which had been in operation since 2009. My love of sport, art, music, and play allowed me to be successful in our business ventures and bring joy and excitement to babies, toddlers, and kids.

 

As a new mom in Carleton Place, it has been difficult to find engaging activities for my two year old - what have other moms been doing until now? Noting the lack of programming opportunities, I knew we had to find a solution and I am thrilled to be launching Speckled Frogs once again. I can't wait to meet all our future speckled families!

I am one of Beckwith’s newest residents and mother to a sweet and spirited 3 year old girl! While I am the ‘new mommy on the block’, I am no stranger to the Carleton Place area as my husband Rob and his family have called Beckwith home for over 25 years!

 

After our cross country move last winter I was looking for activities in the area for my toddler and saw a need in this community for this under serviced age group. This is where Connor and I got to brainstorming.

 

Whether it’s been developing and running art programs for overnight camps, owning a private daycare, or teaching English classes to 4 to 10 year olds in China, I’ve always loved working with kids. This combined with the possibility of creating something that is needed, I was inspired.

 

It is Connor and my hope is to bring high quality classes that our parents and early learners will find fun and valuable through hands on learning and exploration. I am so excited to get to know our local parents and toddlers and to grow our Speckled Frogs family within the Carleton Place and surrounding areas!
